NOT in a rush
And after you get married, they’ll start pestering you to have kids. And your friends getting married (or getting pregnant) one after another is no help at all. K and I have been together for 6 years and neither of us have siblings. Imagine that–sometimes I think our relatives are more excited for our wedding than we are, haha.

A few weeks ago, I read several articles about the depressing state of Manila Zoo. I was so disheartened by the photos I saw and stories I’ve read: horses and donkeys with bones poking through their skin, monkeys eating plastic, and various animals living in their own filth. A lot of people called for the zoo to close down and I can’t say they overreacted. I myself wanted to close it down after seeing those horrible photos. And even after going there myself and seeing that it’s really not half as bad as it looked in articles I’ve read online, I still want it to close down.

The first of November is a big holiday for most Filipinos. There’s no work, no school, no chores. Everyone flocks to the cemeteries (in their provinces or otherwise) to visit their dead. Kids get all excited over the novelty of doing something different. For a lot of merchants, it’s a chance to sell their goods to the flood of people that’s surely going to come their way.
